With a new season comes new relationships and partnerships. Sponsorship contracts end and new drivers are picked up, some are retained but for the 2012 season we’re seeing a lot of new partnerships develop and upcoming drivers given a chance to prove their worth too.
The GWT stable has seen a revamp and we see the introduction of two new members to the team.
Lee-Roy Frans and his 1JZ-GTE powered Toyota Supra MkIII managed to secure a victory on his first outing for GWT Racing.

BG Smuts also joins the ranks under the GWT Racing banner with his 2JZ-GTE powered Nissan 200SX S13.

After nearly hanging up his gloves, Aubrey Hiles returns for 2012 in not only new colours, but a new car as well. His ex-Japan Nissan Silvia S14 is powered by a special SR20DET Neo and he now rides under Monster Motorsport sponsored by Carbon Black and Drift Performance Products. He’s joined by Shaun Cornelius and his 2JZ-GTE powered JZZ31 Toyota Soarer.

Dave Nell, who has relocated to KZN, is also in the process of changing over. There’s no word as yet of who’s backing him but we firmly believe it will be someone noteworthy – it’d be silly not to snap up Dave Nell. His Nissan S14 is in the process of undergoing a complete makeover.
