While we here at SA Drift have never been ones to subscribe to the politics of the sport, a very important ruling has been made by the Pretoria High Court today.

MotorSport South Africa made an application with the High Court to order WOMZA (operating from The Rock Raceway) to cease all motor sport activities as they were not affiliated to MSA.

Today the High Court denied the application from MSA, allowing WOMZA to continue with their operations legally.

For those that have heard rumours of the court battle between the two, you can now rest easy knowing that drifting (and other forms of motor sport too) will still continue at The Rock Raceway, unhindered.

More information to follow shortly.

MEDIA RELEASE

MSA FAILS IN ITS COURT BID TO STOP WOMZA FROM ORGANISING MOTOR RACES

After the long awaited court decision we are ecstatic to announce that World of Motorsport ZA (WOMZA) has broken the strong hold of Motorsport SA (MSA).

Motorsport South Africa has lost its bid to stop the World of Motorsport ZA (WOMZA) from organising and promoting Motor Racing in South Africa.

The case was heard in the Pretoria High Court earlier this week with the High Court dismissing MSA’S application with costs, including the costs of two Counsels. This means that MSA does not have the sole and exclusive right to organize motor races in South Africa.
